Not a medical service.

Last updated: 4 September 2026

HormoTize measures blood values, reads your wearable and your daily check-ins, and turns all of it into insight and lifestyle advice. That looks like medicine and is deliberately not: we are not a healthcare provider, your results are not a diagnosis, and nothing in the app is a treatment.

This page says exactly where that line runs, so you know what you can lean on the app for and what belongs with a doctor.

1.What HormoTize is

A wellness and lifestyle service built on your own figures.

  • A blood draw at a certified laboratory, with the values that lab measures and reports.
  • Our reading of those values: a status per biomarker, a System Age per body system, and the Hormonal Recovery Index above them.
  • Lifestyle recommendations that follow from those figures, about sleep, training, nutrition, alcohol, caffeine, daylight and stress.
  • An AI coach that answers questions about your own numbers, and which is blocked from naming a medication, a dosage or a diagnosis.

2.What HormoTize is not

  • Not a doctor, and no substitute for one. We do not examine you, we do not know your history and we do not see you.
  • Not a diagnosis. A biomarker outside its optimal range is a signal, not a condition, and the app cannot tell you what is causing it.
  • Not a treatment. We do not prescribe, we do not advise on medication, hormone therapy or supplements by dosage, and we do not monitor a treatment someone else has started.
  • Not a medical device. The HRI and the System Ages are our own calculations on your data, not clinically validated measures, and no doctor should treat on them alone.
  • Not emergency care. The app does not watch over you, and nothing in it is read by a person in real time.

3.About the ranges we show

Two ranges appear beside each value. The reference range is the laboratory's own, the band in which it considers a result normal for your sex and age. The optimal range is ours: narrower, drawn from the scientific literature on where people tend to feel and function best.

That difference matters in both directions. A value inside the lab's reference range can sit outside our optimal band, which says something about room to improve and nothing about illness. And a value inside our optimal band does not rule out a complaint that deserves a doctor's attention.

4.Do not change medication on what the app says

If you take anything prescribed to you, including a hormone treatment, thyroid medication, the pill or an antidepressant, do not start, stop or adjust it because of a value or a recommendation here. Those medicines also influence the values we measure, which is reason to read your results together with the person who prescribed them.

5.When to see a doctor

Make an appointment, and take your blood report with you, if:

  • the laboratory flags a value as outside its own reference range;
  • you have a complaint that persists: lasting fatigue, unexplained weight change, loss of libido, mood that will not lift, trouble with fertility;
  • you are being treated for something, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are considering a hormone treatment;
  • a result worries you, for whatever reason. Doubt is reason enough, and you never need our permission.

With chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, a sudden severe headache, confusion, or thoughts of harming yourself, do not open the app: call 112, or your GP's out-of-hours service. In the Netherlands you can also reach 113 Suicide Prevention day and night on 0800-0113.

6.If you are already under treatment

Tell the doctor treating you that you use HormoTize, and share the lab report rather than our interpretation of it; the raw values are what they can work with. Where your doctor's instruction and the app's recommendation differ, your doctor's instruction prevails. We never take over the treatment, and we are not told about it.

7.What a measurement can and cannot say

A blood draw is a single moment, and hormones move.

  • Time of day matters: testosterone and cortisol are highest in the early morning and lower later in the day.
  • A cold, a hard training session the day before, a short night, alcohol, fasting or a recent illness all shift values, sometimes considerably.
  • A wearable estimates rather than measures. Sleep stages, strain and recovery are models, and they differ per brand.
  • This is why a trend over several panels says more than one draw, and why we would rather you read a direction than a single figure.

8.Our responsibility and yours

We build the app with care and base what it says on published science, but we cannot guarantee that a general insight fits your situation, and we cannot see what else is going on with you. The decisions you make about your health remain yours.

We are not liable for damage that follows from using the app as a substitute for medical care, or from not seeking care because the app said something reassuring. What our liability does cover is set out in our terms and conditions; nothing on this page limits a right the law gives you as a consumer.

9.Questions

If something here is unclear, email [contact address]. We can explain how a figure is arrived at. We cannot answer a medical question about your own situation, and we will say so rather than guess.

HormoTize is a wellness service, not healthcare within the meaning of the Dutch Quality, Complaints and Disputes in Healthcare Act. The boundary this page describes is the one the software already keeps to.
