Before your draw

How to arrive ready.

A value is only as good as the morning it was measured on. Seven things, and nothing else.

And for your package

Know which package yet?

Some panels ask for something extra — an early morning, a day in your cycle, two days of rest. Open your appointment in the app; it says what applies to yours.

  1. Bring photo IDPassport, identity card or driving licence. The name on it has to match the name on the appointment — otherwise the lab is not allowed to draw your blood, and you have fasted for nothing.
  2. Come fastedNothing to eat after 22:00 the evening before. Water is fine — and helps: well hydrated draws more easily.
  3. Book the morningBetween 7:00 and 10:00 if you can. Hormones follow the clock, and the reference ranges were built on those hours.
  4. No hard trainingTake it easy for 24 hours beforehand. A hard session leaves its mark on your muscle, inflammation and stress markers.
  5. No alcoholNone for 24 hours. Alcohol moves your liver and lipid values directly, and it is the mistake people make most.
  6. Keep taking your medicationNever stop on your own; tell us what you take when you are drawn. Biotin — in many hair and nail supplements — can skew thyroid values: leave that for 48 hours.
  7. Sit down firstArrive five minutes early and settle. Straight off the bike into the chair means a higher heart rate, and sometimes a higher value.

If the lab gives you an instruction that differs from this page, follow the lab. Unsure about a medicine, ask your doctor — we do not give medical advice.
